Production records bundle several emails together. Every quotation below is labelled by how securely it can be attributed:
Attribution: high sender and passage bounded by a clear header block · medium the passage sits in a record sent from that account, but no header governs it directly · unresolved the passage is in the record; authorship cannot be established
Where attribution is medium or unresolved this page says "a passage in the record," never "X wrote." Two of the strongest-sounding passages here are marked medium for that reason.

What the Volume Actually Is
Polio appears in 585 released documents — and that number needs deflating before it means anything.
A large share is noise: food-delivery receipts where "Privacy Policy" OCRs as "Privacy Polio," CDC travel advisories, and news digests. Perhaps 150–250 are substantive.
What remains is concentrated and identifiable. The principal correspondents are Terje Rød-Larsen (85 polio documents), Boris Nikolic (48), and Amy Carter of the Gates Foundation (45). 2013 alone accounts for 228.
Section 02
2010: Being Briefed
The relationship begins with him receiving.
On 6 January 2010, Bill Gates’s science adviser explained the molecular biology of polio vaccines to him — "the roles of codons on viral replication and how this could be used to prevent infection (immunize) host to various pathogens (in this case Polio)" — attaching the 2008 Science paper on virus attenuation. Attribution: high
Within weeks, operational material is circulating around him. A record from his account contains a detailed Afghanistan assessment: Permanent Polio Teams, 146,000 children reached, and the observation that "key to their success is their low visibility." medium
And a proposal in the record offers to "facilitate contacts between these interlocutors and the Foundation" and to survey public resistance to eradication. unresolved — the document carries no header, and it is not from the sender adjacent to it in the file

August 2011: The Turn
One document marks the change, and its header is the reason it matters.
From: Jeffrey Epstein · To: Mary Erdoes · cc: Jes Staley · 17 August 2011. Erdoes ran JPMorgan Asset Management. Staley had run its private bank.
Epstein’s advice on approaching the Gates Foundation: "They are a very very sensitve bunch that has spent billions seperate from polio. there is little that can be held up as a great success and even polio is not yet finished. Bill is terribly frustrated. He woudl like to boost some of the things that are working without taking away from thoses that are not.. therefore, explaining that this woudl allow ‘additional money for vaccines’ must be included." Attribution: high — his own prose, not forwarded, not quoted
This is not someone receiving information about philanthropy. It is someone telling a major bank how to frame a request, using private knowledge of the funder’s state of mind — and specifying what language must appear.
The other strong polio passages sit in records whose authorship cannot be pinned down.
This one has a clean header, named recipients at a global bank, and continuous authored prose.
It is the single most securely attributed polio document in the release.
Section 04
2013: Setting the Number
By 2013 the direction has fully reversed.
On 4 September, Epstein: "I would do a millon a year for each area.. the peace center should not have the gates nam[e]." Rød-Larsen works it through — Pakistan and Afghanistan, Nigeria, Somalia — "15 mill over five years… Shall I just drop it in this context, and keep the dialogue only with BG? Pls give guidence." Attribution: high
Read against August 2011, the arc is complete: briefed on the science in 2010, advising a bank on how to approach the funder in 2011, setting the amounts and being asked for direction by 2013.
Afghanistan_Polio_Brief.pdf and Pakistan_Polio_Brief.pdfWhether Epstein authored the GAVI or Afghanistan analyses — only that they are in records sent from his account.
And nothing here shows Epstein directing a vaccination programme. The documented role is funding structure and access strategy, not public health.
