The Finding
Bill Gates was not a passing contact. He was the objective — and the released files show Epstein working a channel toward him for years, through Gates’s own science adviser and a UN-affiliated institute.
Gates appears in 3,916 documents. His adviser Boris Nikolic appears in 14,094. On the morning of a dinner with Gates in 2011, Epstein wrote to the president of the International Peace Institute: "I have bill gates for the nxt two days.. I know what i am supposed to say re ipi."
What this page does not claim

Nothing in these documents indicates Bill Gates knew of Epstein’s sexual offending, participated in it, or was aware of the women in his household. Gates has publicly said the relationship was a mistake. He has not been accused of any offence, and this page makes no such allegation.

The subject is Epstein’s method — how a convicted sex offender positioned himself between a foundation, a UN-affiliated institute and a global-health initiative. Text is from a PII-redacted compilation covering 94.1% of released documents; quotations should be checked against the linked original.

Section 01

January 2011: Two Dinners

Epstein’s own schedule, headed "Priveleged and Confidential," records it plainly.

31 January: "7:30 DINNER WITH BILL GATES AND BORIS NIKOLIC." 1 February: "8:00 Dinner w/Bill Gates, Boris Nikolic and Peter Mandelson." Mandelson was staying at the house that week.

The dinners had a purpose, and Epstein prepared for it. On the morning of the first, he emailed Terje Rød-Larsen, president of the International Peace Institute: "I have bill gates for the nxt two days.. I know what i am supposed to say re ipi.. any specific challenge?"

Afterwards he reported to Larry Summers: "I had Bill Gates most of yesterday, He told me you grilled him at Davos. We agreed to try to figure a way to harness and your talents."

This was two and a half years after his conviction.

What the documents establish

Epstein hosted Gates at his home on consecutive evenings, having been briefed in advance on what to say about a specific institution, and reported the outcome to a former Treasury Secretary.

He was carrying a brief.

EFTA017979882011-01-31Epstein’s schedule, headed "Priveleged and Confidential": "7:30 DINNER WITH BILL GATES AND BORIS NIKOLIC"; the next evening, "8:00 Dinner w/Bill Gates, Boris Nikolic and Peter Mandelson"

Section 02

The IPI Channel

Polio, Peace & Health, and Pandemic Preparedness

Between 2013 and 2015 the Gates Foundation developed a multi-million-dollar relationship with the International Peace Institute. Epstein was on the inside of it — not as a funder, but as an adviser to IPI’s leadership.

All five documents in this section have been verified against the original DOJ PDFs.

September 2013 — the grant takes shape. Gates Foundation programme officer Melissa Covelli West set out the objectives to IPI: "Reduce number of inaccessible children to zero" and "Create safety for polio vaccinators/health workers and their security teams."

What the Foundation wanted from IPI: "Providing research, analysis and insights of the political environment in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Northern Nigeria, and Somalia… Helping identify potential influencers/high-level contacts… Convening foreign ministers and/or others at UNGA or related events in support of polio eradication/immunization."

Andrea Pfanzelter forwarded the Foundation’s grant template to Epstein. He replied on 4 September: "I would do a millon a year for each area. . the peace center should not have the gates name on it. at all."

Rød-Larsen worked it through: "With ‘area’ you mean: (1) Pakistan and Afganistan, (2) Nigeria and (3) Somalia? One million for each pr year over five years? So it will sum up to 15 mill over five years. On the Nexus Centre: BGs name is not mentioned. Shall I just drop it in this context, and keep the dialogue only with BG? Pls give guidance."

What this establishes

Epstein advising IPI leadership on proposed funding levels and on whether the Gates name should appear on a proposed centre.

It does not establish that Gates owned the Nexus Centre, or that Epstein controlled any Foundation decision.

October 2013 — the figure becomes real, and it is not Epstein’s. On 20 September, Amy Carter of the Foundation wrote to IPI: "the foundation’s Polio team met with Bill today… Bill fully concurred… Total of $5M over 3 years structured into two grants: Grant #1 = General Operating Support… Grant #2 = Project Support for Polio, as well as the Peace and Health, and Middle East work… particularly in Somalia where we have the greatest current gaps."

On 10 October, IPI’s finance director forwarded the funding history to Rød-Larsen, who forwarded it to Epstein. Epstein replied: "its simple 5 million over three years. many ways to split it. - many !! the idea that your teem has not done an accounting for money spent to date is silly,. and was asked for at the sept meeitng."

The $15M figure was Epstein’s proposal. The $5M figure was the Foundation’s decision, agreed by Gates. The documents show Epstein commenting on a structure he did not set — and criticising IPI’s accounting. This does not establish that he attended the September meeting, only that he knew what was asked there.

May 2015 — the relationship deepens. Pfanzelter reported after meeting Christopher Elias, president of Global Development at the Foundation: IPI "provided unique information on the security situation in polio-affected regions in Pakistan and Afghanistan which is apparently very helpful to the Gates foundation." Elias "expressed strong support for the continuation of the Gates foundation’s cooperation with IPI. He said that he will raise the issue with Mr. Gates… He also suggested that you raise the issue with Mr. Gates." Rød-Larsen forwarded it to Epstein.

June 2015 — Epstein edits the pitch to Gates.

On 11 June, IPI’s Camilla Reksten-Monsen wrote to him: "Hi Jeff, Below is Terje’s draft email to BG — could you look at it and give Terje your feedback before it is sent?"

Epstein replied the same afternoon: "no needs a lot of work, if kim is only sending a rep, bill will not go. it needs to start with the title and who else is going."

Nine hours later: "Thanks, Jeff — that makes sense! How about the below?" — and the revised draft opens with the conference title and the confirmed speakers, exactly as he specified, with Jim Kim’s attendance addressed.

His edit was adopted. The invitation asked Gates to keynote "Preparing for Pandemics: Lessons Learned for More Effective Responses," Geneva, 11–12 September 2015, with Margaret Chan of the WHO, Peter Maurer of the ICRC, Michael Møller and Kevin Rudd confirmed.

The line that cuts the other way

The revised draft tells Gates:

"IPI is now organizing our conference on a global defence system related to future pandemics. The idea springs out of your thinking on this matter…"

IPI attributed the conference concept to Gates, not to Epstein. Whatever Epstein’s role in presentation, the initiative was being credited to Gates in the pitch itself.

EFTA006785022013-09-04Epstein → Pfanzelter and Rød-Larsen: "I would do a millon a year for each area. . the peace center should not have the gates name on it. at all." Rød-Larsen: "…sum up to 15 mill over five years… Pls give guidance." Thread includes Gates Foundation staff Amy Carter, Melissa Covelli West, Paul Facchini, Mito Alfieri and Kate Abbott

Encloses Amy Carter: "Bill fully concurred… Grant #2 = Project Support for Polio, as well as the Peace and Health, and Middle East work"
EFTA008563512015-05-22Rød-Larsen forwards Pfanzelter’s report on Christopher Elias: IPI’s security information "apparently very helpful to the Gates foundation"; Elias "suggested that you raise the issue with Mr. Gates"
EFTA008554592015-06-02Rød-Larsen forwards Epstein the full conference package, attachments including Preparing_for_Pandemics_-_Invitation_Mr._Bill_Gates.pdf
EFTA008545902015-06-11"Below is Terje’s draft email to BG — could you look at it and give Terje your feedback before it is sent?" Epstein: "needs a lot of work… it needs to start with the title and who else is going." Revised draft follows his instruction
The precise finding The released documents place Epstein in an advisory channel surrounding IPI’s Gates Foundation relationship — covering polio, Peace & Health, and later pandemic preparedness — and show IPI seeking his edits on a solicitation addressed to Gates before it was sent.

They do not establish that Epstein designed, directed or controlled Gates Foundation programmes, that Gates knew of his involvement, or that he originated pandemic preparedness — which IPI’s own draft attributes to Gates.

Two relationships, kept distinct: Gates Foundation ↔ IPI (funding, documented) and Epstein ↔ IPI leadership (advice, correspondence, draft review).

Section 03

The Channel: Boris Nikolic

Nikolic — Gates’s science adviser, writing from both a gatesfoundation.org address and from bgC3, Gates’s private think tank — is the single most frequent correspondent in this material: 14,094 documents.

The traffic runs both ways. Nikolic sends Epstein the Davos participant list: "Let me know if interested to you. Anyone whom I should meet? Whom you should meet?" He introduces Epstein to Philip Rosedale, founder of Second Life.

And Epstein advises him on his own career. A February 2011 message from Epstein to "Boris Nikolic (bgC3)", headed "Structuring your postion with bill," proposes titles: "president Bill Gates investments.. president Bill Gates Interests., President Bill gates holdings."

One request runs the other way and is harder to read charitably. In January 2011 Nikolic asks Epstein: "Could you ask Jean-luc to connect Sam with fashion agency/circle in Brazil?" — Jean-Luc Brunel, the model-agency operator later charged with rape of minors and trafficking.

Nikolic was later named as a backup executor of Epstein’s will. He has said he was unaware and declined to serve. Secondary

What the Channel Was For

The 2011 dinners were not an end in themselves. The documents show what Epstein was building toward — and by 2013 he was setting the numbers.

In August 2012, on IPI’s "Nexus Center" concept: "well done, but you must treat this as highly higly confidential.. too early will ruin it." Two weeks later IPI staff report: "All references to the foundation have been deleted."

In September 2013: "I would do a millon a year for each area.. the peace center should not have the gates nam[e]." Rød-Larsen works it through — Pakistan and Afghanistan, Nigeria, Somalia — "15 mill over five years… Shall I just drop it in this context, and keep the dialogue only with BG? Pls give guidence."

The president of a UN-affiliated institute was asking a convicted sex offender for direction on a $15 million structure and on how to handle Bill Gates.

By October 2013, Gates Foundation grant proposals were being routed to Epstein directly — polio, peace and health, the Middle East, "$2.5M – $4M." By May 2015, the foundation’s own global development president was suggesting that Epstein raise IPI’s funding with Gates.

And in June 2015, IPI staff were drafting conference outreach for his approval — "Thanks, Jeff that makes sense! How about the below?" — naming the WHO’s Director-General among confirmed speakers.

EFTA018737172012-08-03Epstein to Rød-Larsen on the Nexus Center concept: "well done, but you must treat this as highly higly confidential.. too early will ruin it"
EFTA018882732012-08-17IPI staff to Rød-Larsen: "All references to the foundation have been deleted (there was only one in the talking point)."

Shall I just drop it in this context, and keep the dialogue only with BG? Pls give guidence."

EFTA008563512015-05-22Rød-Larsen briefs Epstein after meeting Christopher Elias, the Gates Foundation’s president of global development: "he will raise the issue with Mr. Gates during his next regular meeting. He also suggested that you raise the issue with Mr. Gates."

The distinction that matters These documents show Epstein inside a funding and planning channel. They do not show Gates directing it, endorsing it, or knowing Epstein’s role in it.

The repeated instruction that the centre "should not have the gates nam[e]" cuts both ways: it is evidence of deliberate structuring, and equally consistent with a foundation keeping its distance. Unresolved

What Remains Open

Whether Gates knew Epstein was positioned between his foundation and IPI, or that IPI sought his edits on a solicitation addressed to him. The documents show the arrangement; they do not show his awareness of it. Unresolved

Whether the $15 million structure was executed, and in what form. We hold the instruction, not the outcome.

Why Nikolic’s correspondence is so voluminous — 14,094 documents is an order of magnitude beyond any other Gates-adjacent figure.

What "I know what i am supposed to say re ipi" refers to — the briefing itself has not been located. Unlocated
